Overview

This Sigma 85mm 1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F is a standard prime lens designed for use in portrait photography. Its distinctive focal length and large aperture give it great movement between uses, from portraits to everyday images. Designed for full frame sensors, the 85mm 1.4 is equipped with a multitude of Sigma technology to further ensure unmatched image quality. It is a large aperture medium telephoto lens optimized for use with digital SLR cameras and is especially ideal for portrait and low light photography. Designed with SLD glass and a glass mold element, it's excellent color correction is achieved for all types of aberrations and superior optical performance is ensured. It is equipped with a rear focus system that minimize fluctuation of aberration caused by focusing and the Super Multi Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting even in backlight photography.

HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures quiet and high speed autofocus capability and the round 9 blade diaphragm creates pleasant out-of-focus highlights. The rounded 9-blade diaphragm also helps create round, smooth bokeh. In the package,a petal-type hood is included to help block out extraneous light.

Other features of this lens include it's use of two SLD elements, one aspherical element to minimize aberrations and endure the achievemnet of crisp clear images as well as the use of one anomalous partial dispersion/high-refractive index element foroptimal performance. A Super Multi-Layer coating has been applied to aid in suppressing flare and ghosting. For operation, a Hyper Sonic AF motor provides fast, accurate focusing and a large focusing ring permits manual focus override for making fine adjustments. Finally, the lens is constructed from a thermally-stable composite material that is light and durable and it has a brass bayonet mount. Additionally, it is fully compatible with Sigma's USB Dock.
