Overview

The Yongnuo YN608C LED Video Ring Light has a distinctive-shaped light fixture with an output of 5500K in color temperature. The fixture comes with a special grip handle for handholding for a very soft, slightly directional look. You can also mount it to a grip head and shoot through it for a silky smooth near-shadowless effect that is flattering to your talent's complexion. A bonus is the unique circular shape of the light that is reflected in the eyes of your subject.

The YN608 uses tungsten LEDs, 608 in number. You can make light intensity adjustments on the fixture but the inclusion of a handy wireless remote control lets you do it at a distance. The YN608 can be powered using an AC adapter (not included), or by two Sony NP-F550 or two Sony NP-F970 series batteries (not included) for use in locations where mains power is unavailable. A single battery only powers half of the LEDs, and that full functionality requires either an AC adapter or two NP-F batteries.
