Overview

The BM5 III is a 5.5-inch on-camera monitor from Portkeys for all your creative adventures. It has such features as a daylight-viewable touchscreen with FullHD 1920 x 1080 resolution, camera control capability, suite of professional monitoring tools, four user function buttons, HDMI and 3G/SDI video inputs as well as an SDI loop output. It supports input up to 1080p60 from your camera.

The screen has a brightness of 2,200 nits, which is high thus making outdoor shoots in bright sunlight easy. Additionally, it has a 10-bit (8+2 FRC) panel which makes color reproduction more accurate with a rich level of color details and no color banding. This 5.5-inch monitor has a large 178° viewing angle, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Power draw by the BM5 III is just 16W. It is powered by a Sony NP-F battery to be fit onto the built-in battery plate at the back of the monitor (Battery not included). If you would like to draw power from an external battery in your setup this monitor features a 4-pin aviation 7.4V-24V power input, so you can use the included D-Tap to 4-pin aviation cables (40cm and 100cm) to power your monitor infinitely. Also, the 4-pin aviation 7.4V power output can power small camera accessories, such as a wireless follow focus motor. The mini-USB port can be used to control multiple camera functions using a separately available control cable on a variety of Canon, Panasonic, Z CAM, Sony, and Blackmagic Design cameras.

Touchscreen Control Focus

When you touch the screen of the monitor, it draws highlights around the edge of the focus, so you can focus quickly and accurately in real time without any other tools when using the RED KOMODO, Panasonic BGH1, or the ZCAM E2.

HDMI In/SDI In/Loop Out

HDMI input and SDI input and loop output ports with the ability to output a superimposed image with 3D LUT and peaking via the SDI output.
