Overview

The Shinobi field monitor from Atomos is a 5 inch HDMI monitor that has a 1000nit range of brightness making it ideal for use by photographers, vloggers as well as other creatives. It is a stand-alone monitor with a ‘run all day’ single battery and has HDR capability with 10+ stops of dynamic range from Log/PQ/HLG signals in realtime. Additionally, this monitor can be calibrated using X-Rite’s i1DisplayPro for accurate HDR and Rec709 monitoring.

With an aim to attract vloggers, this monitor also features a selfie Mirror Mode as well as a multi-tool Analysis View that appeals to cinematographers. It also features advanced video scopes, histograms and waveforms. It's screen has a Anti-fingerprint technology and special AR coating. It is also light and can be attached to virtually any HDMI camera setup with ¼”-20 screw threads at the top and bottom for easy rigging onto cages as well as other equipment.

Monitoring Assist

The Shinobi monitor features several monitoring tools that include focus tools, framing & exposure tools such as Focus Peaking, 4:1 / 2:1 / 1:1 Zoom, Zebra, False Color, Frame Guides, SMPTE Safe Area, Waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, a new multi-view ‘Analysis’ view and a flexible 3D and 1D LUT, Profile and Preset support (upload .cube files via SD Card) and options for anamorphic desqueeze monitoring.
