Overview of the Sony FX30 Camera

FX30 is a cinema camera from Sony with a APS-C sensor for upcoming filmmakers and professional content creators. The Sony FX30 is capable of recording highly detailed 10-bit UHD 4K imagery at up to 120 fps, just like other Sony cameras in the Cinema Lineup. It features a 26MP APS-C Exmor R CMOS sensor that is coupled with the BIONZ XR processor leading to the creation of high-quality 4K images with a Super 35 (16:9) area. This system is capable of capturing 14+ stops of dynamic range and benefits from Dual Base ISO architecture for great performance in low-light.

The FX30 camera has a 5-axis in-body image stabilization system that translates to smooth footage. When the optical stabilizers are off, you can record gyro movement using this camera and come up with a stable shot in post. It also has a Fast Hybrid AF system with 485 points (759 points in Photo mode) across 90% of the image sensor for high-speed and highly accurate autofocus performance in every mode. Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking will track the eyes of humans and animals while the AF Assist function will automatically switch to manual focus with a turn of the lens' focus ring.

High-speed shooting is possible in 4K at up to 120 fps with a 1.6x crop and in Full HD at up to 240 fps. Media recording is made possible via the built-in CFexpress Type A and SD card slots.
