Overview of the Sony PXW-Z200 4K 1" CMOS Sensor XDCAM Camcorder

The Sony PXW-Z200 is a 1-inch camcorder, meaning that it has a large 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with approximately 14MP (effective) and records up to UHD 4K videos. It is a successor to the PXW-Z190. The Z200 has a longer 20x optical zoom, BIONZ XR processor, ethernet port for direct streaming via RTMP/RTMPS, SRT protocols, and FTP options, features AI-assisted autofocus and auto-framing, has built-in dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity and can color match with Sony Cinema Line cameras. Use the Sony Monitor & Control app to view your capture using your smartphone or tablet.

The 1" Exmor RS CMOS Sensor is stacked for optimized image quality, amazing low-light performance and fast readout speeds. This camera is capable of producing 4K foortage using 5K oversampling with full-pixel readout. The longer 20X optical zoom covers wide angles to close-ups. This is equivalent to a 35mm full-frame 24-480mm. One can expand this range in 4K and HD to 30x and 40x respectively.

Featuring the latest BIONZ XR TM image processor, Sony Z200 has faster autofocus, higher frame rates, improved ATW control, and excellent noise reduction. 5K oversampling with full-pixel readout condenses ample image information into stunning UHD 4K60 video. Precise human-subject recognition, auto focus and Real-Time Tracking is achieved on the Z200 with AI-assisted deep learning with upto 81% coverage. Auto Framing helps with keeping track of subjects, automatically recognizing human forms and adjusting the frame to keep your subject centered.

Record up to UHD 4K60 video and high frame rates of up to UHD 4K120 and 1080p HD at 240 fps. Slow motion rates include 4x at 4K30 and 5x at 4K24p with high-speed autofocus to keep your subject sharp. This camcorder's interface includes up to 12G-SDI output, timecode input and output, genlock, USB-A, USB-C, LAN, REMOTE, and additional connectors.

For livestreaming, you can stream directly from the camera using Wi-Fi or via a wired Ethernet connection using RTMP/RTMPS and SRT protocols. The PXW-Z200 has dual memory cards slots compatible with CFexpress Type A and SD cards and you can record on the two cards simultaneously or use relay recording to back-up your footage. The Z200 also features built-in electronic variable ND filters for a variety of light scenarios: adjust from 1/4 to 1/128 ND with a simple dial adjustment or use the Auto ND function

Finally, power for this camera is drawn from BP-U35, BP-U70, or BP-U100 battery packs.
