HB-34 Lens Hood is a flower-type bayonet hood designed to fit onto the Nikon AF-S 55-200mm DX Lens. As is usual for lenshoods, HB-34 blocksunwanted light from reaching the lens to reduce flare, glare, and loss of contrast for optimum optical performance. Being a bayonet lenshood means that it has a mount for attaching to the lens. However, in less-than-ideal lighting conditions, the performance difference can be substantial.
