Overview of the Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera

The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera is a full-frame 6K sensor camera which easily captures rich colors, has a wide 13-stop dynamic range which easily expands 36x 24mm sensor. It takes the digital  film innovations of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K and easily turns it into a box-style cinema camera with a Canon EF lens mount with customizable side plates. With this camera, you can easily record up to 6K Open Gate 3:2 video at 36 fps as well as Anamorphic 6:5 video at 60fps.

LCD Monitor and Onboard Controls

The camera comes with a built-in 4" LCD touchscreen for reviewing your sets. It offers you a maximum brightness of 1500 cd/m2 which ensures visibility in all conditions. Some of the tools include frame guides,3D LUTS, histograms, parameters. With the onboard controls you can easily access settings such as white balance, ISO as well as shutter. Thanks the scroll wheel, you can easily fast adjustments, and the three customizable function buttons allows you to tailor your workflow.

Various Recording Options

The Blackmagic Design Pyxis 6K also comes with two-built-in CF Express Type-B card slots and a USB-C expansion port for recording directly to SSDs or flash disk.

HDR Imagery and Dual-Native ISO

The Pyxis 6K has a  wide 13-stop dynamic which helps preserve more detail in both dark and light areas. It has an expanded color range as well as DaVinci Resolve Studio code which gives you all the creative freedom to look over your work. The ISO 400 is ideal for on-set lighting configurations while the ISO 3200 is perfect for dimly lit environments.

Post-Production File Formats

In order to preserve control of detail, exposure as well as color during post-production, PYXIS records in Blackmagic RAW. You can also share your files through Ethernet connection, Blackmagic Cloud or even 5G/4G mobile phones via USB-C port for mobile connection.

Direct Livestreaming

You can livestream directly from the PYXIS via SRT or RTMP protocols. Its also compatible with different platforms such as X, Facebook or Youtube. You can also share internally by using the ATEM Streaming Bridge via wireless link.

Extensive Connectivity

The Blackmagic Camera Control app can be used for wireless Bluetooth control up to 30 feet away. You can also power it through a 2-pin DC power connector or a Sony BP-U battery plate. You can also be able to monitor your audio via a monitoring jack and an additional 3.5mm microphone input.
