Overview

The LS 300x Bi-Color LED Video Light from Aputure is a Light Storm LED fixture from the company as it's first bi-color Bowens-mount light that is also compatible with optical lens modifiers. With it's bi-color feature, this light has an adjustable color temperature range from 2700K to 6500K. This makes it suitable for use in creative film applications. Out of it's bi-color chipset, the LS 300X is able to create a single source as it blends optical; color elements. For futher control and light output shaping, the LS 300X can be paired with such modifiers as the Spotlight Mount or the Fresnel 2X (lensed modifiers) or the Light Dome II (a soft modifier). Coupled with the Fresnel 2X, the LS 300X can output up to 56,000 lux at 1 meter.

This fixture can create light that is cooler than daylight and warmer than Tungsten with an expanded vari-white CCT range of 2700-6500K. Thus, the need to have extensive gels on set is reduced. With a 96+ score for CRI and TLCI, 85 for tungsten SSI, and 74 for D55 SSI, the LS 300X provides consistent rendering, streamlining workflow and simplifying setup. It also has 9 built-in effects that help to simulate a variety of dynamic lighting scenarios with the possibility of adding more with future firmware updates. They are: Paparazzi, Lightning, Fireworks, TV, Pulsing, Strobe, Faulty Bulb, Explosion, and Fire, all with adjustable color temperature.

Just like the widely popular Aputure 300d II, 300X has a silent and passively cooled control box as well as a similar lamp head. With the control box, one can choose from five common CCT presets or dial-in a custom temperature in 50K increments. According to the need, there are two output modes: Constant and Max.

• Constant Output Mode

This allows you to to adjust CCT while maintaining consistent luminance so you can change color mid-shooting.

• Max Output Mode

This mode allows you to maintain the highest output possible.

On the light's design, it features a 360-degree, adjustable handbrake locking yoke. For wireless operations of the light, a 2.4G RF remote is included and it is also compatible with DMX512 and the Bluetooth Mesh Sidus Link App. For ease in transportation and protection, the light is equipped with a strong and durable carrying case.
